Golf, June 6 – tee time 8 a.m.:
Peter Carnes and Bob McGroarty have scheduled our first golf outing of 2023, for June 6 starting at 8 a.m. at Oak Hills Golf Course, 165 Fillow Street, Norwalk. We have a limit of 24 golfers so if you’re interested get your name on our sign-up list this week. As of this writing there are 3 spaces remaining. Golf will be followed by an optional lunch. DMA Golfers are scheduled for our annual golf date at Sterling Farms on 31 August. We will look to have up to 7 foursomes starting at 10:30; play and a cart will be attractively priced at $52 per person. Sign-up must be completed a week in advance, by email to Peter Carnes.

Attention DMA golfers. Once again this year, we have the opportunity to play at the beautiful and challenging course at CC of Darien, site of the upcoming 2022 Women’s MET Open. Our CCD outings the past three years have been well attended and a lot of fun. We’ll again have a shotgun tee off in the morning and meet back in the Clubhouse for an optional lunch. Greens Fees will be $105; Cart fee is $40; lunch is $25. More details to follow.

We were blessed with a beautiful day on 14 September at Sterling Farms where 24 members arrived for 18 holes of golf on the Stamford course. Remarkably there were no last-minute cancellations; since the event was oversubscribed, this meant that at least half a dozen members were not able to play. There were no reports of unusual accomplishments, good or bad, which is probably more attributable to modesty or embarrassment than reality. The course was in excellent condition which is a tribute to their staff to which we are again grateful for their annual hospitality to the DMA.

The DMA golf season began at Oak Hills in July with 32 DMA members participating in a wonderful golf outing. The golf course was in great shape, everyone enjoyed the camaraderie, and there were no rain delays. Golf results remain privileged information.
The next golf outing of the season will be held at the Country Club of Darien at 9:00 AM on Thursday, August 26th. A buffet lunch will be served after play is completed. Cost for non CCD members will be $115 for golf and cart; the buffet will be $25. Please email Peter Carnes at picarnes@gmail.com if you wish to play. We have some times reserved for a golf outing at Sterling Farms. The date is Tuesday 25 August at 11am. Cost will be $51 with a cart (single occupant). Before fully securing this reservation, I want to get a sense for the number of you who are likely to play.

28 August for Golf Outing at Sterling Farms
The next golf outing of the season will be held at the Country Club of Darien at 9:00 AM on Thursday, August 15 th . Lunch will follow for the participants on the outside patio. This is always one of our most popular golf outings of the year and we are looking forward to another good turnout in August.

DMA – MCNC Golf Tournament
Gentlemen,
The Annual DMA – MCNC (Men’s Club of New Canaan) Golf Tournament will be held this year Thursday, Sept 19, 2019 at the Silvermine Golf Club. This is a spirited competition which is characterized by good fellowship. Most important, it is a fun event.
After golf, we all enjoy a buffet lunch with one another. The cost is $60.00 which includes greens fee, cart and lunch.
At this point, I am seeking volunteers to play for the DMA golf team. This has been an even competition for the last couple of years. Traditionally, our depth has been our strength although it is also important that our best players step up to play on the golf team in order to put DMA over the top.
