About: Darien Lion’s Club

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. Established in 1949, the Darien Lions Club is dedicated to helping those less fortunate and in need. Our membership is a diverse group of women and men who have a connection to the Darien Community. Some members live in town and some work or own businesses here. Our members have one thing in common, our commitment to ‘SERVE’ . We are very proud of the positive effect we have had on our local and extended community. Thanks to our friends and members, since 1949, the Darien Lions Club has raised and donated more than 3 million dollars to critical projects in Darien, in the state of Connecticut, and to the world through the Lions Club International. Our contributions include: The Yale University Eye Research Center, Post 53,Camp Hemlocks,Person to Person, Favorite Friends, Darien High School Scholarships, Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, Darien 60-plus, American Cancer Society, Darien Special Olympics, Clara Barton Summer Camp Scholarships, Freddie’s Friends, and many other local and individual projects.
