When George moved to Darien 32 years ago for a new job, his wife was eight months pregnant with a questionable decision. Decades later, Darien has proven to be one of his best decisions ever. He found it a wonderful place to raise three boys, play sports, engage with a faith community, enjoy Long Island Sound, and build lifelong friendships. Growing up as an Air Force brat who attended a handful of schools across California and Washington, George is grateful his sons completed their entire education from one address on Coachlamp Lane.
George’s career began with four years as a U.S. Army officer in Germany to fulfill his Cornell ROTC scholarship. After a marketing stint in Cincinnati, Procter & Gamble sent him back to Germany for another four years to run their European Skin Care business. Moving here to Darien, he led Revlon’s Face & Nail division through the company’s IPO. In 1997, he transitioned from packaged goods to financial services with Citibank, later joining The Hartford as CMO, overseeing the AARP program. He capped his career spending a decade as CMO for Nestlé’s Gerber Life division. He also served several years on the Stratton Mountain Ski Safety Patrol. George continues to serve on the Board FinTech start-up.
In retirement, George stays active biking, golfing, skiing, and sailing. He travels frequently to Europe and bikes often to Pear Tree Point.
