William Tamme was born in St. Louis, MO in 1952. He grew up in South St. Louis and St. Louis County and graduated from Bayless High School. Bill graduated from Central Missouri University with a BS of Ed and also received his MBA from Arizona State University. At the University he was active in the drama club and intramural sports. His post-university career started with four years as a high school history teacher followed by 25 years in equipment and project finance with companies such as Greyhound Leasing & Financial Corp, Household Commercial Finance and GE Capital. This was followed by 13 years as the owner of Darien Doughnut starting in 2006.

Bill and his wife Carol live in Darien. They have two sons in Salt Lake City, UT and Fort Collins, CO and two granddaughters. Bill belongs to the Country Club of Darien and Roton Point Association. His leisure time interest is golf.

Hendrik Vriesen was born in 1939

Hendrik Vriesen was born in 1939 in Dinxperlo, The Netherlands.and grew up in De Heurne which is a suburb of Dinxperlo. He graduated from MULO High School (Meer Ultgebreil Lager Onderwijs) in Aalten, The Netherlands. He graduated from Webster’s of Saint Louis, MI at their Geneva Switzerland campus in 1975 with a BA while living and working in Geneva (thanks to Webster accepting credits earned while living in San Francisco. Hendrik’s work experience started in early 1960 with his initial exposure to the banking industry in Vancouver, BC. He relocated to San Francisco in 1964 and was employed there by Bank of America. He was recruited in 1974 by First National Bank of Chicago to work in their overseas offices. He handled assignments in Frankfurt, Geneva, Brussels and Paris. He started working as an independent financial consultant in 1980. He decided in 1997 to return to the USA where he has continued his work as a consultant to the present time.

Hendrik and his wife Margaretha live in Darien and have one daughter and four grandchildren.
His only current membership is with the DMA and in his spare time he enjoys swimming, tennis,
biking and reading.

Scarby Smith was born in Hartford, CT in 1944. He grew up in Windsor and West Hartford, CT and graduated from Loomis Chaffee High School in Windsor. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1967 with a BA in History. At St. Lawrence he was active in Phi Sigma Kappa, Varsity Soccer and The Saints. On graduation he served 2 years as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and in 1969 joined Chemical Bank where he managed the Tokyo branch until 1985 when he became regional manager Japan and Korea. He left Chemical in 1991 as EVP and joined Sumitomo Bank as GM Human Resources and Advisor from 2014 to 2017.

Scarby and his wife Carol live in Norwalk and have 3 children and eight grandchildren. He belongs to the Tin Whistlers, Gulfstream Golf Course, St. Andrews Delray, Weeburn CC, Old Asian Hands. In his spare time he enjoys reading, walking and golf.

Milan Chilla was born in Berwyn, IL in 1947 and grew up in Hinsdale, IL .He graduated from Hinsdale Township HS and the University of Kansas where he received a BS in Journalism in 1970. At Kansas he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi and was on the dean’s list in 1970. On graduation, Milan joined the Tribune Company in Chicago working for the Chicago Tribune. He was with the Tribune Company for 35 years, 25 of which entailed working in Tribune Company’s New York media sales office in various sales and management positions.

Milan and his wife Kristine, a psychotherapist live in Rowayton and have no children. He is a former Vice Commodore of Wilson Cove Yacht Club, member of the Rex Boat club and Oak Hills golf club. He is an exhibiting member of the Rowayton Arts Center and Carriage Barn Art Gallery in New Canaan. His hobbies consist of golf, painting and boating

Jeremiah (Jerry) Crowley was born in Providence, RI and grew up in East Providence. He graduated from LaSalle Academy High School in Providence in 1961. Jerry graduated from Providence College in 1965 with a BS degree in Business Management After graduation, he served in the US Coast Guard Aviation Reserve. From 1971 to 1985 he worked for Health-tex, Inc as Director, Operations Planning. From 1985 to 1990 Jerry was a consultant with The Holly Group in Norwalk for small businesses. He co-owned  an automated payroll and bookkeeping company. From 1990 to 2000 he was a Senior Sales Executive with MicroAge Technical Services. Then, from 2001 through 2017 with Acumenic Associates in Norwalk, Jerry served as Principal providing web-based solutions to various organizations.

Jerry and his wife, Nancy, have lived in Norwalk since 1980.  They have two children, ten grandsons, one great-grandson and another on the way.   He is past president of a Lions Club (RI) chapter; President of the Harbor View HOA; Chairman of the Oak Hills Park Authority (2003-6, and 2014-19); Vice-Chair Norwalk Neighborhood HOA (2003-9).  Jerry’s leisure time activities consist of golf, pickleball, travel and personal computing, plus lots of time with the grandchildren and their activities.

Roy was born in Astoria, NY in 1941 and  grew up on Long Island. He graduated from Lehigh University with a BA in Finance and is a member of Phi Sigma Kappa. He was commissioned a US Naval Officer and served for three years including two Westpac tours during the Viet Nam war.  He joined IBM as Sales/ Marketing trainee and enjoyed a 35 year career in marketing and management assignments. He then went on to positions in the Auto industry finally retiring in 2007. 

Roy lived in Darien for 25years where his three children attended Darien schools and he was active in town activities. He served on the RTM, YMCA Board, Park and Rec Commission, and Darien Technology Board before moving to West Norwalk. He has since relocated to Stamford and is now happily downsized and President of his Condo Association. Favorite sports are Tennis, Pickle Ball, and watching the New York Yankees.  Other activities include the DMA as a Board member and past Treasurer, AARP Volunteer Driver Safety Instructor, reading best seller fiction, travel, and finally investing for fun, amusement, and occasional profit.

Everett Schenk was born in Providence, RI in 1949 and grew up in Glen Rock, NJ.  He graduated from Glen Rock HS in 1967. Everett received a BA in International Relations from Brown University in 1971 where he ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track and was co-captain of the track team in ’71. He received his MBA in 1973 from Dartmouth College in 1973. His business career was in finance starting with energy finance with Chemical Bank in 1973. In 1989 he started with Banque Paribas as head of New York Corporate Banking activity. This assignment included a three stint in Paris. In 2000 he joined BNP Paribas where he was CEO of BNP Paribas North America until he retired in 2012. Everett and his wife Sally live in Darien and have two sons residing in Stamford and Boston. He is currently a partner in Social Venture Partners of CT, Vice Chair of the Board and Treasurer ofFamily ReEntry, Steward along with his wife of the West Branch Preserve of the Nature Conservancy in Delaware County New York. For leisure time enjoys family travel and all outdoor activities such as Skiing, hiking, water skiing and wake boarding.

Kenneth Coe was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1964. He grew up in Seoul until age 11 when his family moved to Orange County, CA. Ken graduated from Fountain Valley High School and on to UCLA where he received a BA in Economics and the Wharton School of Business for an MBA in Finance. Ken’s business has been in finance starting with Houlihan, Lokey, Howard & Zukin in MYC and with Talek Management in Greenwich from 1999 to 2018 when he semi-retired.

John Fider was born in 1945 in Newark, N.J., and grew up in Union, N.J. He graduated from Union High School in 1963 and enrolled in Parsons College in Iowa. After one year, he left college to pursue a career in radio. John started his broadcast career at WHBI-FM in Newark and moved on to WBIC on Long Island. Soon thereafter, he took a position at WJLK in Asbury Park hosting the morning show, “The Alarm Clock Club.” In June 1965, he accepted a temporary position with ABC, and it became permanent in September and lasted until 2002. John’s career covered the gamut of sound mixer, transmission engineer and technical director, working some of the network’s most exciting programs. The scope included the Winter Olympics, the New York City Marathon, the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Derby and many others. On the news side, he covered NASA launches and Princess Diana’s wedding and funeral. In 1989, John became operations producer with the News Division covering “Primetime Live,” “20/20,” “World News Tonight” and special events. Promoted to director of broadcast operations, John handled shooting, editing and most studio, remote and bureau operations. He became vice president of production operations in 1996 and remained in that position until retiring in 2002. Since then, he directed “Columbia News Tonight” until 2017. He currently teaches part time at the New York Film Academy and freelances for Bravo Network. John has received six Emmy Awards and a DuPont Journalism Award. Frank Gallagher was born in the Bronx in 1957. He grew up in Larchmont, N.Y., and graduated from Mamaroneck High School 1975. He graduated from Florida International University in 1980 with a B.S. in hospitality management. Frank started his career with Weston International Hotels in Los Angeles in 1981. In 1982, he changed careers and joind George Gibbons & Co. in New York, involved in bond sales. He continued in the finance field in New York, Greenwich, and Larchmont doing equity research. In 1995, he joined Catalyst Investment Management doing hedge fund portfolio management in New York. In 2011, he went to work with Visium Asset Management also doing hedge fund portfolio management in New York City until he retired in 2015. Frank and his wife Catherine live in Darien and have two sons and a daughter, all living nearby. He belongs to Wee Burn Country Club and the Darien Boat Club. Mark Nunan was born in Cork, Ireland, in 1953. At an early age, he moved to Homewood and then Hoover, Ala. He graduated from Indian Springs High School in 1971, where he was editor of the school newspaper and literary magazine, member of the Student Judiciary group and member of the soccer team. Mark graduated from the University of Alabama in 1976. He continued his education at Stanford University, where he was awarded a master’s in 1979 and a Ph.D. in 1983. During that same period, he was a George Lurcy Fellow at L’ENS normale supérieure and at the University of Paris-Sorbonne in Paris as part of his Ph.D. program. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi academic honor society and participated in medical research in one of the largest blood pressure and cardiovascular disease research studies in the United States.

Mark started his career with COS, Inc in 1982 in Palo Alto, Calif., and then transferred to Paris and New York City in 1980, where he retired as a senior vice president in 2018. COS is a private firm that provides business and economic development services, assisting companies and governments in researching, developing and implementing new business expansion opportunities, mainly in North America and Europe. Mark and his partner Isabelle live in Darien and have one son and a daughter-in-law and two grandsons living in Europe. He belongs to the Stanford Alumni Association, A-Ulm: Association des Anciens Eleves de I’Ecole normale supérieure and Phi Kappa Phi. Arthur Baron was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1951 and grew up on Long Island. He graduated from Binghamton University with an M.S. in Computer Science and has a B.S. in Physics. Art began his business career with Singer Aerospace in 1975 in software engineering where he developed real-time solutions for aircraft simulation. He joined IBM in 1978 in systems engineering in New York City. He then worked as a business development executive in White Plains and developed alliances with the major global systems integrators. In 2010, he joined Rackspace Hosting in San Antonio as a partner development executive in cloud hosting. From 2010 to the present, he has been doing business development consulting. He has also provided mentoring services to startups through Connecticut Innovations, and coaching at NFTE. Art and his wife Virginia live in Darien.
