David Earle was born in Williamstown, MA.,  and moved to Darien when he was three. He attended Darien High School, then Williams College and L’Ecole Normale de Musique as a music and theater major, graduating in 1968.  His career began with teaching high school French in Arizona and evolved into college text book publishing, arts administration, public television, cable television, broadcast television, technology consulting and human resources consulting.

He has lived in 14 different places since college, moving to Rowayton from Weston, CT., with his wife, Susan, in 2011. Their  three children live in Navada City, CA., Fairfield, CT., and Brooklyn, NY.
His retirement interests include sailing, hiking, golf, gardening, travel, tai chi, woodworking, genealogy and writing. He is currently working on a multi-generational family history and a 100th anniversary project for Noroton Yacht Club.
