Ed Hynes, CFA was born and raised in Wilton, CT. He attended Wilton High School where he played both football and lacrosse. In 1977 Ed graduated from The George Washington University in Washington D.C. with a B.A. in Political Science. He subsequently spent most of his career in financial services. As an equity analyst, institutional salesperson and trader he worked with some of the premier investment banking firms in many of the world’s leading financial centers including New York, Tokyo, London, Chicago and San Francisco. In 2001 Ed became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder, and is currently a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch in Westport, CT. He lives in Norwalk.
Ed first became interested in the Revolutionary War as a child when he learned his neighbor’s house was partially burned by the British during the Danbury Raid in 1777. He and his wife are fascinated by history and have visited many important battlefields both here and abroad. Ed has spoken to the DMA before – 2013 on the Battle of Ridgefield, 2019, about the War on Long Island Sound and again in 2020 on the Origins of the Star Spangled Banner.
We had a great golf event yesterday in support of At Home in Darien. Kudos to Frank Gallagher and his team for putting together an event with more golfers, more sponsors and higher fees that will hopefully generate as much as $10,000 for At Home in Darien versus $7,500 last year.
Once we have the final numbers, I believe we had agreed on putting out communications across our varied vehicles to share our success and to provide exposure to those individuals and businesses who supported the event with tee signs, etc.
Hopefully we have some pictures that can be included on the newsletter and on the website. I took pictures of most sponsor tee signs (primarily to share with the sponsors if we want), but I didn’t take any golfer pictures; hopefully others did. I’m happy to help develop these communiques once we have our final accounting. We should probably arrange a photo op with Frank G. presenting a check to Chris Jones from AHID for our and their use in the communications.
Thanks!
Frank
